Professionals from FranceAgriMer’s board of specialists

On Wednesday March 15, the professional representatives of the wine industry decided to leave the meeting of the FranceAgriMer specialist council, meeting in Paris. The sector is represented by the General Wine Production Association (AGPV), which groups together several institutions (Cooperatives of winegrowers, Cnaoc, independent winegrowers, Confederation of French IGP wines, FNSEA, Young farmers). Faced with the consequent delays in the implementation of the national wine program, they were “fed up” and pointed the finger at the responsibility of FranceAgriMer, the Ministry of Agriculture and the European Commission. Industry professionals fear that a significant part of European funds will not be used, which would call into question the investments necessary to improve the competitiveness of the industry, or even the sustainability of the specific aid program to which it is intended. they remain attached. For several months, professionals have expressed their concern about the delay in the various measures of the national wine program. They observe in the field serious cash flow problems and deferral of investments in farms. “Despite the numerous alerts, FranceAgriMer has not implemented sufficient means to overcome this situation, which runs the risk of taking a substantial part of the budget to Brussels,” according to the AGPV. Added to this is the uncertainty about the implementation of measures for the current year ”, continues the AGPV. The revision of the Community texts in 2016 and the endless round trips between Paris and Brussels in terms of their interpretation have not yet allowed the validation of the national aid program. An unacceptable situation for companies, despite the beginning of the sowing period, investment projects are ready and promotional campaigns for 2017 should have already been launched. “
