From 15 to 23 February 2018, the elective regional assemblies of the General Union of Champagne Winemakers will be held.
The local shop stewards will then be asked to elect their directors, region by region. As a reminder, the SGV’s board of directors is renewed by half every two years. The directors’ mandate lasts four years. The locals meet at the beginning of the year to appoint their delegates. The presidents of the local unions then send the list of delegates to the SGV, which sends each of them a voter card. During the regional assemblies, each section delegate will vote by secret ballot and by envelope for the administrators of their sector. Candidates are elected in the first round by an absolute majority of the delegates present. In the case of a second round, a simple majority of the votes cast is required. SGV members who wish to stand as Union administrators must submit their application at least ten business days prior to the scheduled voting date (see below). After the regional assemblies, an elective board of directors will be held. This new council will elect the members of the SGV bureau (president, general secretary, five vice-presidents, including representatives of Aisne, Aube and Marne, a treasurer, a deputy general secretary and a deputy treasurer). The regional assemblies of February 2018, if they are elective, are also moments of discussion about the current situation. All SGV member vine growers are invited to attend.
